CIA triad write up

The CIA triad is information security within an administration. That has three main principles that are needed to protect the firm’s data. The main principles are Confidentiality, integrity, availability.

Confidentiality
Confidentiality makes sure that personal information is only allowed to be seen by someone who is authorized. They are programmed to keep unauthorized people from seeing and or hacking into the system. Securing your account is a must. The use of usernames and passwords and also having a two – factor authentication are a great way to secure your account.

Integrity
Integrity makes sure that they keep data up to date, keep it accurate and not touched while being stored or moved. Must have data backed up in case of an emergency such as a natural disaster and or the server crashes. To make sure it has not been changed and or hacked into they use hashes to make sure it has not been tampered with.

Availability
Availability is the last one on this list. This makes sure that you can access your account whenever you are authorized to it. They also make sure that they can keep all hardware up to date. Will also need to keep data about faults, backup. To Make sure that there is little to no downtime in the hardware and or failure in cyberattacks. There are different threats that can be compromised. Such as hardware, software, failures, power outages.

the differences between Authentication & Authorization
There are ways to ensure your account stays safe. And to make sure that it is actually you. The authentication is the verification process. This is to make sure they know who you are when you login to the website. This can be done by multiple ways to to login by passwords, face scan, multi-factor and two step authentication. On the other hand we have Authorization. Authorization controls your access to the information. Certain people can’t see what other people are seeing. A safe Authentication process will help a lot. Authentication is what you can do on that page or website. Being able to view folders, files, private information. As an example not everyone sees what Donald Trump sees in his work duties.

Conclusion in the 3 principles and the differences
In Conclusion, The CIA Has three principles such as. (Confidentiality, Integrity, availability). The CIA is a way to keep data and information safe for sure.
Confidentiality protects information from people who don’t have access to it.
Integrity makes sure that data stays confidential and safe from unauthorized people.
Availability is where you can access your data if you’re the authorized person.
Last, we have the difference between Authentication and Authorization.
Authentication is Identification or user that gets verified. Authorization is the part of what can you access. The three principles and Authorization, Authentication all play their own role.
