Degrees: Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry, Doctor of Medicine.

Q:   What is your job title and where are you currently employed?

A:  “I am a family physician, lead physician at my practice, and I am currently employed at Novant Outpatient Practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.”

Q:  What inspired you to get into your current profession?

A:  “I always wanted to go into medicine. Then, the more that i learned about it and how it helped others, that just solidified it for me.”

Q:  What was your path to your current job?

A:   “I interviewed for my job straight out residency and then began to learn about management.”

Q:  What is your basic role and responsibilities as a family physician?

A:  “My first and foremost role and responsibility is patient care and as lead physician I try to help keep everything between the office and Novant running smoothly.”

Q:  What is your favorite or most rewarding aspect of your job?

A:  “I would have to say interacting with people and helping them get well.” 

Q:  What is the most surprising aspect of your job?

A:  “I was surprised at how much you have to fight with people about their own health”

Q:  What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

A:  “I think the most challenging part is all of the administrative paperwork and changes that are out of our control such as pharmaceutical companies or new mandates that we can do nothing about.”

Q:  What is some advice you would give someone getting into the medical field?

A:  “Do it because you’re passionate about it, not because of the pay or because it’s deemed to be a respectable job but because you’re passionate about it and then you will always be fulfilled.”
