How should we approach the development of cyber-policy and -infrastructure given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge?
The “short arm” in reference to predictive knowledge refers to the ethics and the viewpoint of each individual situation as being immediate because there is no way to know or to predict the future consequences or repercussions of the decisions that are made. as we continue to develop cyber policy’s and cyber infrastructures this omniscience or lack there of must be taken into consideration. These policies and infrastructures must both be evaluated and improved consistently in order to remain in good shape and working properly. They also need to be ethically correct to ensure that those who rely upon the infrastructure will be protected and so will their well-being. The policies of cybertechnology are meant to set standards for things such as social media, gaming, and encryptions. There are clear boundaries that are set to deter threats both internally and externally and by constantly improving and updating these policies safety and use concerns are improved for users. As imperfections and vulnerabilities are found or exploited this opens up the opportunity for improvement to provide greater protection. If these vulnerabilities and such are ignored than the ethics of the situation must be questioned as the developers owe it to customers and users to make these improvements to keep them safe and improve their products. Moving on, Cyber infrastructure is the network that connects both systems and files through cyber mediums. The cyber infrastructure is connected to the responsibility of maintaining and updating cyber policy’s. It is extremally important keep safe and up to date infrastructures to ensure that economics, safety and welfares have strong vitality. One good way to look at it would be that if the infrastructure of a company or even a country is at risk then the entire company and/or country is in danger. Just like with policies the infrastructures issues need to be found and corrected immediately so that all the members of society are free of any risks and so that we can create a safer and more advanced system in the future.
