My Major – Cybersecurity

I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program at Old Dominion University. My major is what is known as an interdisciplinary studies track. I found out that this means that some of the courses and materials I will be studying and the things I will be learning come from other disciplines or areas of study that closely relate to or connect with the cybersecurity field – such as business, information technology and science. I think this is an interesting and very realistic approach to studying this subject. In the working world, many people find themselves collaborating with others or doing projects or tasks that may be a bit outside of the scope of what their job functions are. In my opinion I think that is one of the best ways to gain more experience and get better at a particular job or skill. It may even introduce someone into another field or spark an interest they didn’t realize before.
