CIBI stands for "Ciencias Biológicas" in Spanish, known in English as "Biological Science." This course gave students the opportunity to learn about the scientific environment and how research was performed in Biology. Some of the topics discussed in the course were genetics, mitosis, osmosis, the origin of life on Earth, statistics in research, and the scientific method. Below are a few samples of completed lab works.
The objective of the lab was to understand what a microscope is and what it can do.
The objective of this lab was to define and contrast diffusion and osmosis, describe the process of osmosis and what diffusion does in a colloidal matrix, as well as measure the movement of an ink solution from a highly concentrated area to a non-concentrated area.
The objective of this lab was to look at the different stages of mitosis in onion cells utilizing a microscope. It also asks the student to compare eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells.
