It is an interesting path Davin Teo took to get to being a Digital Forensic Investigator. When you look at things from social sciences, it makes you wonder about theories like Determinism. When you look at that theory, if he was predetermined based on his affinity to IT to become a criminal, he would have done that. But he expressed positive influences from his father, which lead him in a positive direction. But does that mean he was meant to end up an investigator? I really don’t care for an idea or theory that leaves out the possibility of choice… As an Investigator, you kind of need to put yourself in the criminals’ shoes, understand how they operate and what they might do. Makes it easier to be that hound on the hunt for that computer as Davin Teo described doing.
