Keeping your devices safe to prevent any types of cyber threats from hackers getting a hold of your devices is a main goal you should want to prioritize while being a user. Especially for your big systems that hold a lot of data like a computer, computers are essential for work and personal life they are used for storing and processing big amounts of data that small devices for example like a phone or tablet can’t typically handle to hold, but how do we know if the computers we are using everyday is safe? Some practices to commit to that will help promote a secure and safe system are updating software, using two factor authentication, and having safe browsing habits. Using these three practices consistently will promote nonstop computer safety because updating software will always make sure to no matter what the case is detect the latest cyber threats like malicious software that has come in contact with your devices and will fight to get rid of it without you having to deal with it, when it comes to two factor authentication it is a two step security system with distinct forms of identification, how it works is a code will get sent to either forms of contact such as email, phone number or text message. Once sent you can verify it’s you or not this is a very resourceful tactic because even if someone has your password the app still needs verification to make sure it is you, this is great because it makes it harder for hackers to steal your account and take unwanted information on your online accounts. Moving on to the last topic which is practicing using and or having safe browsing habits, when browsing on your computer there are somethings you should avoid like suspicious links or messages like fake propaganda that try to lure you into giving up your information. To continue, something else you should also do to practice safe browsing habits is not using public wifi that exposes your IP to hackers to have access to you and always have your firewall enabled to avoid the traffic of malicious attacks coming your way when you are on public wifi. Doing these actions will ultimately at the end result in you having a safe computer system without the worries of it being at risk to vulnerabilities.
