Due to the advancements of technology in today’s society it has made a significant impact on how cybercrimes have enabled more ways on how offenders have interactions with their victims. Before technology came about, crimes used to be more hands on, physical, and face to face it was easier for the police to pinpoint exactly who they needed to arrest. Cyber technology has opened more doors for criminals that has created an environment to where crimes are widespread, difficult to trace, and more impersonal. Even though yes technology for the criminal justice system has grown as well, it takes an even longer time to hunt down people nowadays because so many crimes are happening through technology. Victims most of the time don’t meet their attackers face to face they could get scammed or hacked by someone they thought they knew but wasn’t the person they predicted them out to be or they could just get their information stolen without evening knowing it until something happens to their stuff when they get to the point to actually notice it. Online crimes like cyberbullying, internet sex crimes, and cyber fraud are all examples of where there is no personal interaction with the offenders and victims it’s all impersonal which is even more scary because you don’t know who that person is and they could possibly know or get to learn information about you that could harm you in the long run. Cyber criminals can do probably just as much damage probably even more through technological devices than in the real world they are very destructive and harmful. In some incidents it’s hard for people to recover from that mentally and financially causing problems in people’s life. With technology still prospering cyber crimes are definitely not going anywhere and will endlessly continue to happen.
