They curate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/publications-resources\/book-lists\">book lists<\/a>, designate several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/awardsgrants\/bookmedia\">book and media awards,<\/a>\u00a0host a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/alsc\/confsce\/institute\">national institute<\/a>, and offer tools for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/everyday-advocacy\/\">everyday advocacy<\/a>. This resource will be invaluable to me in future collection development and enhancement efforts. VAASL facilitates collaboration, host an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaasl.org\/annual-conference\">annual conference<\/a>, grants several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaasl.org\/awards\">awards<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaasl.org\/advocacy\">advocates<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaasl.org\/mission-and-strategic-plan\">support of the school library<\/a> as a learning community to ensure students succeed academically. Members are often colleagues and mentors experienced in applying both AASL standards and VA Standards of Learning. Furthermore, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iste.org\/iste-standards\">ITSE standards<\/a> are fairly aligned with AASL standards. Retrieved on July 30, 2022 from https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/\">Knowledge Quest<\/a> is the official journal published by AASL bimonthly September thru June.\u00a0Additionally, they publish an online <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/category\/blogs\/\">blog<\/a> across eleven topics that are highly relevant to school librarians, like: <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/category\/blogs\/edi\/\">equity, diversity, and inclusion<\/a> (EDI), <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/category\/blogs\/if\/\">intellectual freedom<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/category\/blogs\/maker\/\">makerspaces<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgequest.aasl.org\/category\/blogs\/stem\/\">STEM\/STEAM<\/a>. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slj.com\/section\/reviews\">reviews<\/a> cover print and digital resources, from books to databases. I particularly like the classroom section of the website that has subcategories like: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slj.com\/section\/classroom\/classroomcurricula\">classroom &amp; curricula<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slj.com\/section\/classroom\/Ed%20Tech\">ed tech<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slj.com\/section\/classroom\/elementary\">elementary<\/a>.
