How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?

Right now, two of the majors I am looking at are Sound Recording Technology and Cybersecurity. For sound recording, more and more music is being made on digital platforms and are being uploaded to the internet. Often when people make music, they will upload their music on an account. This makes artists vulnerable in the cyber world, because they could get hacked through that account. Usually this involves hackers using password attacks. Even though music is usually produced offline, it is very important for musicians to keep their data safe. If artists are not careful, they could get their computers attacked with malicious software and malware, which can include worms, viruses, and spyware. If the wrong link is clicked their computer can get hacked which may cause sensitive data to be lost. It is also very important to not send other people songs without getting them copyrighted. If they don’t, someone could release their song on the internet and get revenue for the song you made. As far as cybersecurity goes, it is extremely important because it is involved with every business that has information in the cyber world. If confidential information is not protected, it could get exploited by unethical people who hack businesses. Cybersecurity plays a very big role because technology is constantly growing and changing throughout the world. It is the future to protect against online cyber-attacks. In the end, there are a lot of organizations and individuals that need help because they are vulnerable to cyberattacks. They often need cybersecurity specialists to come in and protect their interests. Cybersecurity is useful for protecting information; however, it is also useful for attacking bad organizations. Often this creates ethical issues, because our government may need to attack others that may be very dangerous. This is another area was cybersecurity is relevant.
