How does your major relate to cyber security technology?
My major is actual cyber security at Old Dominion University. My major, in essence comprises every facet of cyber security technology. Cyber security is the defined as the protection of computer systems and networks from cyber thefts and cyber damage to software, hardware, and electronic data. Cyber security also deals with disruption and misuse of electronic services. Cyber security is a very important major that more people should look into. The field is broad and spans many different job sectors. Cyber security experts work to protect people’s personal information from hackers.
Old Dominion offers a vast array of undergraduate degrees and most of the ties to cybersecurity in one form or another. Old Dominion University programs like computer engineering, accounting, and business management all need cybersecurity in some form. As computer engineers need to know that their software that is programmed has protections from hackers. That is where cyber security at comes in. Computer engineers required to develop and enhance computer technologies daily. For their work to be valid the cyber security standards must be improved as well. Accounting is a very difficult job and for the most part, they must use a computer to do so. Accountants hold very sensitive information that needs to be protected for them to do their job correctly they need to know that their cyber security software can protect their devices. It would be a very severe loss for an accounting company to lose the information of the people who they are working for. Cyber security problems are something business majors must anticipate. They must place proper precautions to account for any cyber security issue so they can protect the information of the company.
