During the month of December, I was tasked to support the company I’m doing an internship with, Team Logic IT located in Suffolk Virginia with setting up six new PC’s at the company Tidewater Lung and Sleep. Tidewater lung and Sleep specializes in lung care and sleep test. At Tidewater Lung and Sleep they do Full Pulmonary function test for lung disease to home sleep studies to test for Sleep Apnea. They have two locations in Suffolk Virginia. At the first location after unboxing the PC’s we noticed that the dual monitors did not come with the proper connection for the PC’s. The monitors came with HDMI cords but the PC’s did not have HDMI ports, instead they came with DisplayPort connections. Realizing DisplayPort and HDMI are two distinct standards for transmitting video and audio from a player to a display we had to take action to get the correct cords. I explained the difference between the HDMI which has 19 pins and the DisplayPort which has 20 pins and it locks in place where as the HDMI does not lock in place. To address the situation, we went to a local Walmart utilized Tidewater Lung and Sleep credit card to purchase the correct cables we needed to set up their new computers. Additionally we also installed an agent which allows us to remotely access their computers to support their future help desk support issues, as well as added the computers to the domain so the employees can log in to the computer with there account.
