This presentation features a reading of The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. I chose to read this poem because it has always been one of my favorites. This poem masterfully displays one of my biggest struggles when creating poetry– finding a rhythm. Additionally, the imagery (ie. “dark red love-knot”) is enthralling. Noyes uses phrases that artfully depict a dark mood and emphasize the stress of the central conflict. I hope you enjoy my reading.
