I am going to compare the United States cybersecurity risks to India’s cybersecurity risks. India is one of the top countries that is known to have the most cyber security attacks. I think that a lot of the security risks that we have in the United States are similar to the security risks in India, but because India is more of an underdeveloped country than we are, the risks are heightened. As a country we are more prepared to fight against many different types of cyber attacks. Ransomware is the number one cybersecurity risk in India, the attacks have tripled in just one year while in the United States it is more common in small/mid-sized businesses. I think that because India is quickly trying to catch up to the technological times, they are allowing their business to be easily targeted while the United States is more diligent about their security vulnerabilities. I also believe that because ransomware is a huge deal and could ruin any business opportunities the United States is looking for threats while India is not, they are taking the threats as they come and not looking for a way to stop these attacks. Another cybersecurity risk that both India and the United States have trouble with is phishing. In America there are always stories being told about how people have given money to random people or private information to someone they think has the authority to have this information. Personally I feel like this is more common in The United States because thousands of people get thousands of emails each day and it can be hard to sift through which ones are important or not, so eventually one fake one will slip through the cracks. In India this is common because again they are trying to quickly become a more technological based country and may be too trusting of the emails they get and don’t have the right technology that would help them sort through the real and fake emails.
