Maslows Hierarchy of Needs starts with physiological needs, safety and security, love
and belonging, self-esteem, and self-actualization. The first level being physiological needs
such a food, clothing, water. While technology may not be on the list now as the world evolves it
become harder and harder for people to function with out technology. I use my phone to order
food and to get transportation when I do not have my car. The next step above that is safety and
security the types of things that involves that is employment and health. Involving technology in
this step is an easy one considering the amount of technology that is used in the health care
industry to ensure the best care that one could have. One example of technology being used in
safety and security in a heath care sense is when I got into a car accident, I had to use my cell
phone to call 911 and one I did that I had to get checked out using a lot of machines with
technology. The next step above that is love and belonging, that involves friendship and sense
of connection, technology helps with a sense of connection because of social media where
people from all over the world can relate to one thing and talk about it together. I can relate to
this because I have little corner of the internet that loves to talk about books, and I am a part of
that, and I love it. The next step above that is self-esteem that includes respect to other and
confidence.
