Stepping outside the small business filter, IBM recently found that the average cost of a data breach was $3.92 million, and that breaches cost smaller businesses more relative to their size than large businesses. It’s important to keep in mind that the true cost of a data breach isn’t always what it appears. Expenses can be spread out over time, with about a third of expenses coming after the first year following the breach. There are a wide variety of costs associated with a data breach, some of which are obvious and repairable.
  2. There are plenty of ways to tell if your computer is running safely. The first and most basic is to test the settings and configurations. This is to just make sure everything is running normally and nothing is out of the ordinary. Next would be to check your computer for viruses and to install an anti virus. This ensure that you have no viruses on your computer and that now you want be able to get any. Another would be to not open any suspicious links, emails, or messages. These could all lead to viruses which can corrupt your computer and leave it no longer operational. Last would be choosing a good password and making sure to protect it. Pick something that is considered a strong password and make sure to have it written down somewhere just incase. These things will ensure that your computer is running safely.
