Artifact 3
Item to Archive #5 activity was one that I found to be slightly more challenging as I had to look back to my past and find five situations where the emotion expressed was happiness. After doing that I had to separate them into two different categories of socially disengaged or socially engaged emotions. I was intrigued that out of the five situations that were written down all but one of them were socially disengaged emotions.
I learned that even in the present I tend to find my best ‘self’ or happiest emotions when they are independent from others and relationships. However, the mot important aspect is my socially engaged emotions which occur when interacting with my siblings. The happy situation that I experienced was when I would be sitting on the living room floor playing Mario party on the GameCube with my younger brother and sisters. On this basis I am centered towards Independent construal of self where my views of self are bounded by me and are separated from others. While that is the case my context of self changes slightly in accordance to being at home surrounded by my siblings.
The picture below represents the happy situation that I got to experience in my past. Remembering this game and what doing that was like brings back a nostalgia factor that is missed.
