Artifact 2
Item to Archive #4 was an exercise that gave me the opportunity to look back on the experiences that happened to me in my childhood. As I began to think back the most important experiences were both good and bad but it all provided the basis to the ‘self’ I am today. The childhood experience that I talked about that helped me develop who I am was because of my grandfather.
During this activity I was able to interpret and understand how childhood experiences provided me with the foundation for what formed my present ‘self’. The image below is a drawing of the most significant events that I had growing up with during summers with my grandparents. One example, was the different individuals I met over the years and the stories that they told of when they were young. Looking back some of the people that I met and the stories they told had different cultural backgrounds than mine and it was fascinating to me to come to that realization when before taking this class and doing this activity I would have not given it a second thought.
