Module 8’s item to archive had me picking adjectives from a list that best described the ethnic/racial groups given to me. The adjectives were picked whether I personally believed them or not and honestly it was slightly intimidating as some of them I wanted to avoid using. I also tried to think of how I see them perceived even without knowing each group individually.

When comparing the words I used to what Katz, Braly and Gilbert used in 1933 and 1951, my answers differed almost significantly. For example, the result for Americans in 1933 and 1951 were industrious, intelligent, and materialistic while the adjectives I used were materialistic, lazy, and ignorant. It was interesting to see how over fifty years has passed and our view of certain ethnic/racial groups has changed. Another variation in responses was for the Japanese, where back in the day majority viewed them as deceptive, sly, industrious. However, now they are seen as reserved, tradition-loving, and intelligent individuals.
