My initial expectations for this course were to learn about the different aspects of social psychology, why attitudes and behaviors of individuals are formed, and how social psychology views social issues, such as prejudice and discrimination. This course surprised me with each chapter and assignment I did. The assignments that I did related to certain course objectives as I was able to make connections through those papers about the effects of prejudice and discrimination on individuals of the receiving end as well as understanding the meaning behind the one saying or doing the discriminating. I also learned about the four different styles of love which are representations of how we want or see our relationships with others.

My attitudes toward Social Psychology has changed during this course as I was not sure entirely what I was going to learn in the beginning of this course. However, over the semester I was surprised on each chapter topic that we were learning each week. I became quickly acclimated to doing the learning checks and activities that allowed me to further progress and grow over the semester. Being able to understand the social aspects of an individuals life and to understand where their behaviors could come from or why they have certain thoughts and feelings will help me in my professional life. Understanding how people are influenced and what they think about will help me in the I/O profession as we look at behaviors of individuals in a work environment.
