The sexual conflict and mating article made some interesting points about how men and women view each other when it comes to sexual interests. Individuals may have different views and interests that can cause them to clash between the opposite sex. After reading this article I believe that both men and women share similar interests in sex but at different stages of their lives. For instance, women are more predisposed to emotions and feelings of connection whereas men do not until later in life. This briefly leads into how men upset women and vice versa.

In the context of sexual interests’ men upset women with their lack of emotional expression, wanting other women or talking about other women, and lack of sexual communication. On the flip side women upset men by lack of communication, overly obsessing about things/situations, too much emotional expression. With these listed examples I believe that both genders have a role to play in upsetting the other party, however, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what each sex does to upset the other and it continues to go around in circles. It can either be too much of something or not enough of something but with the lack of communication between both parties and if neither want to admit fault or listen to the other one it continues the never-ending cycle of “he did or did not and she did or did not.”

The communication barrier inevitably breaks up relationships because no one can come to an agreement or understanding between each other’s feelings.
