Explain how the principles of science relate to cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity is still known as a field of science although it is mainly technical. Although the topic is not tangible, a social science framework outlines why it follows all the same principles as natural sciences. These principles are known as: Determinism, Relativism, Objectivity, Parsimony, Skepticism, and Ethical Neutrality. Relativism in itself reminds us that in science, all these relate or have relation. For example, technological advancements that eventually led to the creation of cyberspace. Relativism reminds us to keep in mind how social changes relate to changes in cybersecurity. Objectivity is put in place as a scientific principle to keep the learning objective. The goal of knowledge and research is to make advancements and the goal when studying science from a social aspect is to not lose sight of the facts and the objective of the information. Parsimony is important to keep in mind as it is a tricky principle for the social sciences like cybersecurity. The Parsimony principle suggests that you should keep scientific answers as simple as possible. This is not as easy to do when answering questions revolving cybersecurity or other social sciences as they typically depend on human behavior which is driven by multiple variables. Cybersecurity should still follow the principles of other sciences to provide efficient progression within the field. Although every principle may not align directly they go hand in hand when studying social sciences and natural sciences.
