This article is called Designing predictive models for cybercrime investigation in Iraq. This article is talking about the benefits of PA also known as predictive analytics. The concept of predictive analytics allows businesses and companies to stay ahead of cyber crime. This is done by actively staying aware of indicators that cyber crime may occur. The article talks about how all breeches are not preventable but risks can be minimalized with the use of PA. With the use of PA there are objectives to track abnormal behaviors, in this article’s case, PA was being used for the security of Iraq. This relates to social sciences because Iraq is a country that faces many social issues and surrounds a lot of war. Iraq is also a country who faces one of the greatest cyber threats due to the amount of electronic devices and its dependence on the internet. In this article you can see that they use research to support their claims. One of the main sources used was Passas & Vlassis, 2007 which was a study conducted on cybercrime. This article also cited other cybercrime studies to support the claims. The article also supports its main arguments by reminding us that cyber attacks in Iraq are currently on the rise for numerous reasons. According to the article current offenses on the rise include Internet cheating, hacking websites, unauthorized online access, cyberpiracy, malware and cyber terrorism. As a social science it is important to look at how PA can decrease these cyber crimes and overall benefit society as a whole.
