Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
Some products and practices that helped me gain understanding of cultural perspectives was Talk Abroad. I was able to talk to a woman from columbia and we talked about her cultural and how it is different from the culture here in the United Staes. This experience helped me gain more knowledge of Columbian culture and improved my Spanish significantly.
These products and practices helped me better understand values and attitudes in the Hispanic culture as well as my own was how many things we actually had in common even though we were from two different countries. The Talk Abroad experience helped me gain an appreciation of how beautiful the Spanish language is. These products challenged my worldview in a way that I was have a better understanding of how diverse the Spanish language is in many countries.

TalkAbroad is a website in which you are able to talk to a person from a different language vie webcam. It is a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it. Some other interpersonal oral activities are talking in Spanish during class and doing curtain exercises in the book that we would verbally have to say.
The interpersonal communication i experienced, for example TalkAbroad and speaking in Spanish during class, helped me learn and speak Spanish much better. Even talking to my peers in class helped my Spanish greatly. I typically excelled at grammar because I find Spanish grammar to make more sense than English grammar. I learned how to Speak and write Spanish and I would not change anything.
Presentational Writing
In English, give a very brief 2-3-line description of the presentational communication of compositions, pamphlets, blogs, flyers, stories, articles, and any other written presentation activities you completed this semester inside or outside of class for or related to your Spanish learning. Include a copy of a written presentational activity you produced? (See Modes of Communication link for description and examples). Presentational communication I accomplished were the compositions I did.
The activities I completed were compositions. Compositions were a set of directions the class would receive and my professor would grade them and tell us how we could improve. It was difficult because it had to be completely in Spanish but it got easier over time. I would excel in mainly numbers because I found them the easiest.
Interpretive Listening
Listening activities I completed this semester were mainly in class and when doing homework assignments
Different things I listened to/heard this semester inside and outside of class were TalkAbroad, listening to my professor talk in Spanish, and watching a show in which they speak some Spanish (Jane the Virgin). What I found most interesting and compelling about listening to Spanish is how well people can speak it considering I am not very good. My take away from each experience is to be patient with yourself. I have grown with each activity I have done because it has improved my Spanish.
Interpretive Reading
Interpretive communication activities I read were mainly the activities in the homework.
Every week I would have to read all of my homework in Spanish and interpret it. The most challenging thing was making sure I was interpreting correctly so I could get the answers correct. I have grown with each assignment because every week interpreting would get easier and easier.
