Sports media has played a huge part in my life from a very young age. With this, the evolution of sports media has been nothing short of amazing to view from a consumer aspect. Over the years, I’ve consumed my sports media from organizations like ESPN and Bleacher Report. However, nowadays I frequently use online media to consume sports from YouTube and Overtime, which is a sports media company that typically uses social media to provide consumers with sports related content. I’ll say that my sports media diet hasn’t really changed in the last five years, due to the fact that I still used online media to learn about sports media content. I do believe that sports media in five or so more years will change because of the rise of artificial intelligence. AI has been a very popular topic in the last few years, with little to no regulations of this technology it can be used by the public for many uses. In the case of sports media, AI has been used to improve the fan experience, along with helping data analysis of sports that can be used with machine learning. To reiterate how sports media is important, one thing that I’d change if I had a magic wand is to express the importance of fact checking the information given to consumers of said media. As social media has enhanced how we engage with sports media, many publications have been more focused on racing competitors, and we’ve lost the credibility of sports media organizations worldwide.
Here’s a reaction that I posted about Damian Lillard joining the Milwaukee Bucks.
