Using the writing skills checklist has been a beneficial resource in improving my writing skills. The writing skills checklist teaches me how to proof read my own writing, shows me what exactly I struggle with when writing essays and also shows me how I can improve on the next essay that will be assigned. When inputting the information from the graded paper into the excel sheet I can see my mistake first hand. By identifying the grammar mistakes or any mistakes on my sentences shows me in detail why I got the grade on that specific essay.  The strength and weakness columns on the editing checklist show me what I struggle with when it comes to writing. It shows how I can make improvements for the next essay. For example, on the first essay I had more X’s in the weakness columns than I had in the strength columns. On the second essay I had more X’s in the strength columns than I did in the weakness column. The strength and weakness column shows me that overtime which each essay I improve my writing skills.
