Hi! My name is Labib Khan and my major is Cybersecurity. I am currently a sophomore at Old Dominion University and would like to get a job in the realm of cybersecurity in the future. The Cybersecurity and the Social Sciences course has taught me valuable lessons about the different social, political, legal, criminological, and economic dimensions of cybersecurity through a social science framework. This course focuses on the way that some aspects of cybersecurity are best understood through a social science lens. I have been able to utilize my experiences in this class for my own personal benefit. I am also aware at what individuals should do in order to protect themselves from phishing attacks and social engineering attacks. I am now more cautious whenever I browse the Internet, or when I am on a personal computer or my phone. Cybersecurity is immensely important in this age, and attackers will only continue to get better and better. This is why cybersecurity experts are increasingly sought after, year after year. Once I am finished with ODU, I hope to get a job that is in this field.
