Business Spanish

Simply put, this class taught business and commerce as it occurs in the Hispanic world. Some of the class entailed learning about familiar concepts in the Spanish language, and other parts of the class involved learning about intricacies of the Hispanic business world that are foreign to someone in the United States. In this class, I was able to develop an appreciation for cultural differences between the USA and the Hispanic world, and cultural differences in the Hispanic world itself. I learned such things as how I should present myself in business interactions to bigger picture concepts such as how the innerworkings of a company function. Also, given that I am focused on education, business was not something I would have otherwise had experience with were it not for this class. As a result, I would say that I have learned to appreciate the complexity of other disciplines.

The classwork consisted of homework assignments from a textbook, with light quizzes to check our progress. At the end of each module there was a test. Throughout the class, there were discussion boards, interviews, and compositions where we would have opportunities to apply the information we learned. At the end of the semester, there was a project which involved researching a Hispanic country. All of the materials I have been able to attach can be found below, with more in-depth explanation.
