Dr. Schulman and the majority of the French teachers at ODU had a French Poetry slam at a local coffeehouse in Norfolk, VA. I was able to see a lot of my previous professors and watch them recite poetry; there were even some of my classmates at the coffeehouse. I know that Dr. Schulman loves Jean-Paul Sartre, and I believe he recited a poem from him. Unfortunately, the cafe was very small and it was packed with people. I have a problem with big crowds and small places, so I was not able to stay for the entirety of the poetry slam. Otherwise, it was a great time and I am glad I had the opportunity to go.
