When going to get lunch I held the door open for a couple of people behind me it was a small deed but people always appreciate it when someone is nice enough to hold the door open. They gave me a simple thank you and went on their way. My second nice thing was complimenting someone on their outfit. It was a warmer day out and they were wearing a cute dress. They were surprised when I compliment them because most people are surprised when compliments are said. My third deed was saying good morning and asking how the employee’s day was going when I would get my bagel in the morning. They were appreciative of me saying something every time I was in since no one before or after me really said anything besides their order. One of my friends was feeling the need for motivation so I offered to study with them for extra motivation. This was small but I was glad to help be a little bit of motivation. My last deed was I got lunch with someone in my class. I only know this person due to this class and I usually say hi and leave it at that. I wanted to get to know them more so I decided to ask them if they wanted to get lunch and hangout. They were surprised since they are a commuter student so they usually just go home.

It made me feel good to do these small deeds every day. I always try to be nice to everyone I meet because you never know how their day is going. I would love to implement nice deeds more in my life, but don’t want to force them because then they won’t seem as genuine to me. However, I do think a small compliment can go a long way sometimes.

I picked this image to show that kindness is something everyone should practice sometimes every day or at least once a week. A little act of kindness can go a long way. So I tried to do some simple nice things for people that I would hope would make their day.

This assignment was to observe the different love styles and which were ours. My top ones were agape and storge and my least was ludus. This makes sense to me although I thought storge was going to be the top one. My ranking lined up with the norms of the males versus the females. This didn’t surprise me since sometimes with these types of evaluations I think similar to the norms of the males in the data collected. Compared to both norms, my eros was ranked low which is interesting but doesn’t surprise me. This assignment helped me learn about myself and will help in future relationships now knowing the style of love I prefer.

I used this image to represent the love style that I associate with me.

This assignment is to take a look at my self and pick six images that represent myself. I went back into my photo album to pick the pictures that best define me as a person. I selected a picture of something I drew, my friend and I in Disneyland, a picture of my sister and I, a photo of me playing hockey, a photo of a book, and a picture of my friends and I.

I love to draw so I used a picture of a disney character I drew to show how I like Disney and have a love of drawing. It is what I like to do in my free time when I want to relax. The other is a picture of my best friend and I in Disneyland to show that she is one of the people I talk to the most and I always hang out with. I have a strong bond with my sister so I included that picture. I love reading and always do it in my free time so I included a picture of my favorite book, Shadow and Bone. I enjoy hanging out with my friend so I used a group picture of us all to represent that side of me. Hockey is a big part of my life and very important to me so I had to include a photo of me playing in high school.

Hockey is a sport that has been in my life for as long as I can remember. I selected this photo because it is the one thing that my friends always associate with me. They know I am a big fan of hockey and it is one of by big personality traits.

A representativeness heuristic is one where judgements are made of one thing based on previous knowledge of the subject. An example would be if my roommate goes to class and is always doing schoolwork, then they probably have good grades. This would end up leading people to making stereotypes about people. An availability heuristic is when people make judgements based on what you may know of certain things. An example would be If I see everyone in my high school class applying to the same college, then I may think it is a good college when that may not be the case. This leads to people thinking one thing about certain things when they could be better or worse just because is is all you have heard from others.

An anchoring & adjustment heuristic is one where the number of values is specific and can be later adjusted. An example of this may be when you go to the gym and start with a certain amount of reps and add more are you go to the gym more. By sticking with a certain number in the beginning will end up limiting your mindset of certain things. The status quo heuristic is when someone believes the way things are are better than any alternative. An example would be if someone had a job for a long time, they would prefer to stick with that job instead of getting a new one.

This image shows the status quo heuristic because even though your solution for a problem may be out of your comfort zone you always have your safe zone due to the status quo heuristic.
