Assignment Takeaway

Assignment Takeaway 5:

For assignment five, we were asked to do a variety of kind deeds for people we did not know. After doing those deeds, we were asked to reflect on the stranger’s initial reaction and how it made us feel. I particularly liked this activity because we were making someone’s day a little better not even realizing until after sometimes how much one little gesture, or kind act, can impact or feel for someone else. Personally for me, it hit a little different because I have been at low points in my life where something small really did impact me in a huge way, so to be on the other side where I can finally show someone else that same kindness, it feels good—on both ends.

Assignment Takeaway 4:

This assignment looked at the way that we love, and we had to take a test to see if things aligned with how our past or current relationships look. For me personally, the answers I provided and the scores that I received aligned with how I am and what I want out of a relationship, especially when I look at my current relationship. This social love theory test was very interesting to participate in and just to see overall, another look into how we are as people and how or what we feel like we need from others.

Assignment Takeaway 1:

For our first assignment we were asked to talk about the different social heuristics and their biases. From this assignment I was able to learn about the different ways our brains operate when it comes to these shortcuts, and ultimately decision making because of these shortcuts our brain takes. I also learned about the biases that come with them and what that entails, and how these biases can restrict us sometimes depending on the situation at hand.
