FL 452&456

Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages PreK-12, is a theoretical and practical course that students take before student teaching. Students learn theory and standards related to the teaching of a world language and how to apply it in the classroom; students also learn how to write daily, unit, and yearly plans, reflections, rubric for assessments, formulate their philosophy of teaching, and put together a teaching portfolio. Upon completion of this course students have the knowledge and tools necessary to be successful in student teaching and subsequently as a classroom teacher. This course, FL 452, is taken in conjunction with FL 456: Seminar in Foreign Language Teacher Education, a practicum course where students observe and practice teaching methods in a World Language classroom.
