This course introduces understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills and emphasizes basic French sentence structure. We use and comprehend French spoken at a slower pace as well as most French spoken at conversational speed. This class enhances the oral and written ability to narrate events in the past and describe habits in the past, read and comprehend basic French texts on familiar topics such as getting food and beverages, buying clothes, speaking in the past tense and telling what you did this week-end, talking about one’s health and daily habits. It also develops additional geographic, historic, and cultural understanding of the Francophone world
