Our emotional intelligence is the measure of how a person can self-regulate their emotions after realizing how and why they express them the way that they do. This requires using both rational thought to analyze our emotions that we don’t consciously make a point of expressing outwardly. For example, if I constantly showed signs of aggression to my peers then I could show a high EQ by acknowledging how this aggression can cause friction in my relationships and doing certain stress exercises to change my mood. A person with a lower EQ may not be able to pinpoint how their actions are connected to certain cognitions or have ways in order to regulate the emotions that are attached to these cognitions.

I took two different quizzes, with results that are roughly similar. The second quiz was much more comprehensive, making me trust it more. They show that I definitely do have some room for growth and need to work on identifying emotions both in myself and others.
