Capture Campus

Capture Campus is a fun project that I have been participating in throughout the semester. This project was made to help students explore the campus they could’ve had if COVID-19 hadn’t hit. Capture Campus is a fun way to easily and safely experience all the campus has to offer while getting in touch with one’s hidden academic side.

Following is my time during the semester in which I participated in the Capture Campus project.

Barry Art Museum

Up first is the Barry Art Museum located on 43rd and Monarch Way. Unfortunately, the museum was closed due to COVID-19 but the neon lights are nice to see at night, just be with a group!

Here I am standing in front of the entrance on 43rd street when I realized that the museum was closed due to COVID-19

ODU Women’s Center

Up next is the ODU Women’s Center located on the first floor of the Webb Center. This health center provides the ins and outs of what a woman should do to stay healthy as well as becoming a leader in society. If you’re interested, they have a Women’s Institute for Leadership Development aka WILD to help students of all genders develop leadership skills.

ODU Women's Center on Twitter: "Interested in developing your leadership skills? Join W.I.L.D for our Fall 2020 session! The program is open to all Monarchs students. The program starts September 14, 2020.
This is one of the electronic flyers I received this year from my fellow student about the WILD program

The Perry Library

Here is the Perry Library located on campus across from the Engineering Systems Building by the Student Success Center and the 43rd and Bluestone Parking Garage. This library has four floors all with different spaces to cater to each students needs, updated computer desktops, little private study rooms, and a little bagel shop that was unfortunately closed for this semester. (p.s. this is where I spent most of my time)

Student Activities Council

The Students Activity Council aka SAC is a committee dedicated to getting students to come together and create fun moments while getting to know the school. Because of COVID-19, there wasn’t too much they could do with big groups, but they did establish homecoming spirit week and holiday festivities we could do to keep out spirits up.

Below is one of the activities they created for the students. It came with an ODU lunchbox filled with goodies.

This is the picture I took after I received the two banners and lunch box filled with goodies from SAC in the Rivers Room in the Webb (the candy apple and the hot chocolate was really appreciated)

The Student Recreational Center

Here is the Student Rec Center aka SRC located on campus between the England House Dorms and the France House Dorms. This is basically a students free gym membership fit with an abundance of workout materials. Due to COVID-19, one would have to RSVP ahead of time for a spot.

This is the picture I took to showcase the entirety of the Rec Center on ODU campus, unfortunately I had missed my reservation and couldn’t attend so I ended up working out at home instead.
