Watch this video and think about how the career of digital forensics investigators relate to the social sciences. Write a journal entry describing what you think about the speaker’s pathway to his career.

Digital forensics investigators use social sciences to understand the mind of a cybercriminal to help prosecutors store, analyze, and report electronic evidence for the court of law. This field requires expertise in forensics skills and requires an additional physiological perspective to understand how an attacker would maneuver. With psychology being one of the social sciences, investigators use techniques to uncover any hidden evidence to study the behavior of the criminal. In the criminology standpoint, investigators help prosecutors and criminologists understand and outline current laws or regulations around cybercrime to assist in the judicial process. No matter the social science, digital forensics investigators are intertwined inside both the social sciences and society itself. Personally, I find digital forensics very interesting and there was a point where I was considering focusing my major on this area. It’s a very challenging field and uses the physiological approach to catch cybercriminals.
