Leadership – Leadership Lecture Series (LLS)

Through the Leadership Lecture Series, I was develop relationship skills such as collaboration and interpersonal communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

  • The Leadership Lecture Series was a series of lectures designed to develop students into leaders through developing various skills from communication to self assessing to financial literacy.
  • Some examples of assignments and workshops that we participated in were those on financial literacy and investing, discovering various leadership styles and taking assessments to analyze different aspects of my life.
  • Through these assignments and workshops were I able to assess myself and take a look of strengths and weakness and find areas of improvement. The financial literacy section of the program really helped me as finances was an area that I needed to improve on from the beginning of the program this academic year, despite the pandemic taking its toll. Through learning about various leadership styles, I was able to determine that I was a servant-leader that would like to improve on delegating tasks to others.
  • During this course, I learned how to verbally communicate and I am currently putting those skills into practice, every day, on the executive boards to which I serve on.  I have also put into practice the ability to make decisions and solve problems;I am putting into practices how to get over my indecisiveness as I would be the one make decisions for my organizations.
  • This experience relates to my future goals and aspirations through my ability to lead my classroom and become a leader within my my grade-level department, my school and my community to be able to serve my community and advocate for them.
