Reflecting Back
I had decided to join the LeADers program due to wanting to match the skills the I would need in my career with the classes that I’ll be taking throughout my time here at Old Dominion University.
One challenge that I did have during my course for service is the impact of Covid-19 on us globally. Due to us not being able to return to school at that time. We had to convert to online and some assignment due dates had to be changed. I maintained contact with all of my professors and my supervisor for volunteering.
During my LeADers courses I got to obtain skills and Knowledge that will benefit me in the long run. Whether I decide to pursue my career in Law Enforcement or Psychology. I worked with others along with gaining volunteer experience to add with an internship.
All of LeADers experiences has prepared me to be successful and work with others in a world of diversity. Academic internship and Service gave me first hand experience in the work field.
Looking Forward
After graduation I plan on pursing my career in Law Enforcement and considering some options for graduate school to eventually pursue my masters.
LeADERS helped prepare me for my goals of 1)working in a team structure, 2) Communicating Verbally. I can demonstrate technical knowledge of Criminal Justice courses. Along with planning, organizing, and prioritizing information etc.
