Hobbies

Sewing: When the pandemic hit I just received a sewing machine from my family for Christmas. I taught myself how to sew and made masks and purses as well as hemmed clothing items in my household. My goal is to eventually learn how to make a quilt as well as pieces I need for other hobbies such as wreaths. Once I have completed my schooling and have more free time, I will continue to learn how to have better techniques and learn to dew more things.

Sports: I currently love to play softball. I have been playing ball since I was a child, starting with t-ball and going into girls slow pitch softball. I aged up and learned how to play fast pitch as well. I played catcher and outfield on the teams I was on growing up. I currently play recreational co-ed softball with my partner and love it. I play the position of catcher there. I keep score for his two other teams that he plays on 2 nights a week. My goal is to get in better shape and pick up a second night to play on.

Reading: I am an avid reader! I read close to 100 books a year according to my bookshelf. I remember loving to read Stephen King as I was growing up, but have since then enjoyed the lighter side of reading with fantasy books. Some of my favorite authors are Cassandra Clare, Sarah J. Maas and Shannon Mayer for now.

Arts and Crafts: I am a crafty person. I love to make my own wreath and decorations for the holidays. I am currently working on a series of the tall wooden signs that sit by my front door. I have made them so far for Halloween, Thanksgiving and 1 of 2 Christmas signs. I am working on a Welcome one as well as a few for family as well. I also am very proud of my super-hero Christmas Tree. I made a bat-signal for the tree topper as well as a number of decoration that sit on the branches that are the symbols for the favorites such as Iron Man, Superman, Justice League and Avengers to name a few.

Fun Facts: My partner and I have been together for 16 years, and met online when Yahoo chatrooms were still a thing. We love playing softball together and love to travel together as well. We just purchased a new home together in February and are in the process of making it quite homey feeling. He is an Accountant, but is good at pretty much everything he does. My love for music has me enjoying marching band shows when I can catch them. I love musicals and just listening to good music when I am doing almost anything. I love the super hero movies and tv shows. I enjoy baking when I have the time and patience for the long hours of making things from scratch. I truly feel blessed with the family and friends I have in my life.
