I enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Human services/non profit course of Fall 2018. This course is designed to expose human service students to the art of ethical fund-raising in human services; which includes annual and capital campaigns, telemarketing, special events, direct mail marketing, face to face solicitation, e-fundraising, and grant writing. I learned about information on fundraising strategies, the ethics involved in fundraising and grant writing skills.

We were each assigned groups to partake in a fundraising project for a student organization or for a local nonprofit agency. We chose the Samaritan House agency, who’s mission is to foster personal safety, growth, and self-sufficiency in adults and their children through freedom from sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, and homelessness.
