Hello everyone, my name is Melinda Pierce and I am from Newport News, Virginia. Where I was born and raised and now raising my own kids, 3 boys ages 15, 11, and 9. I started attending ODU in the spring of 2018 when I got accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Health Science program. My major is Health Services Administration with a minor in Management.  I received my Associate of Applied Science degree from Thomas Nelson Community college and my Nurse aid certification from New Horizons Regional Education Center. I  have been working in healthcare for about 10 years now working as a Certified  Nurse Assistant with training in Handle With Care, Phlebotomy, and CPR and BLS certified. I joined Sentara Healthcare in 2016 working as a Nurse  Care Partner/Patient Safety Partner at  Sentara Careplex Hospital where I am still employed today. My career goal is to gain employment at a hospital in an administrative role. My ultimate goal is to become a hospital administrator!
