REFLECTING BACK

I joined leaders to get a better understanding of the roles of a leader and the impact leadership has on healthcare management. The ODU Leaders program is a great program that introduced me to courses to help enhance my learning experience. These courses I studied help students like myself gain valuable knowledge resulting in a competitive edge in career opportunities. The different areas of study for the leader’s program are  Leadership, Academic Internship, Diversity, Entrepreneurship, Research, and Service Learning. My e-portfolio shares my experiences through the leader’s program and how I connected my courses to real-world experiences. The areas of Leadership, Academic Internship, Diversity, and Research have supported my personal and professional development, critical thinking skills, as well as my interpersonal communication skills. Through my coursework, assignments, and my internship, the leader’s program has allowed me to show my ability to verbally communicate, organize, prioritize and demonstrate technical knowledge learned. After graduation, I hope to gain employment as a healthcare administrator preferably at a hospital! I enjoyed learning and working hands-on to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for me to be successful in my career. LeADERS has helped me in so many ways from teaching the fundamentals of management to helping me better communicate on a professional level and guiding me on how to be an effective leader.
