Professional goals
- My first goal is to gain essential knowledge of the job duties of those in different leadership areas in healthcare and Learn how a healthcare organization handles the day to day operations. To achieve this goal I will shadow numerous managers and leaders in their day-to-day job duties. I will not only follow my preceptor but also get the opportunity to see and observes other leaders as well! By observing and communicating with management I will get an idea of work-related duties, getting hands-on experience as well as keeping a journal of my observations will help me as well. I can also offer my help where I see fit as well as ask to help out where I can!
- My second goal is to learn new interpersonal skills while learning how to communicate with leaders on a professional level. While attending meetings, conference calls, and verbal interactions I can gain new interpersonal skills as a healthcare administrator intern. Interpersonal communication includes the exchange of information between 2 or more people. It also is an area of research that explains humans’ understanding of the use of verbal and nonverbal cues to accomplish a number of personal and relationship goals. Understanding situational leadership will help me as an intern get a better understanding of how those in leadership positions meet the needs of their team members!
- Goal number three would to be enhance my employability as a healthcare administrator once my internship is over. By networking with and connecting with leaders on the administrative team and building repour with them I hope I would make a lasting impression to becoming a candidate for hire after graduation.
