Cell Biology

Cell Biology has taught me a lot of things I would have never thought about considering. For example, I never really wondered how cells are triggered to perform their specific functions. Also, this class has helped me quite a bit in Organic Chemistry. While the two classes are very different, there are some aspects of both classes that helped me connect some things, such as knowing basic organic compound structures and being able to identify them, as well as knowing their function in the body. Cell Biology has also helped in my general studies as a biology major. I aspire to be a conservation biologist or an ecologist, and while cell biology does not particularly interest me, it is immensely important to understand how the cells in an animal’s body works, so that proper treatments/projects can be implemented to help save animals in their ever-changing environments.
