Position: Surgical Nurse<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education: Bachelor’s Degree along with an Associate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brief Summary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1)She just graduated last year here at ODU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2)Ever since she was young, she has always like volunteering and helping people. She knew that she wanted to be someone who does both. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3)One of her biggest inspirations in life is her aunt, who is also in the medical field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4)When she moved here in Virginia, she was given a big offer, an offer that got her an associate and bachelor’s degree at the same time. She obtained her Associates and also her Bachelor’s in only 2 years’ time. She went to Tidewater Community College and got her Associates there and ODU for her Bachelors. 1 month later, she took her board exam and started applying for jobs, which brought her to her current position at Sentara Leigh Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5)Her responsibilities include assessing patients, inserting IVs, following medical orders, providing insights into the patient’s state, adhering to CarePlans, and implementing nursing treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6)Her favorite component of being a nurse is the journey of witnessing patients become better and better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most important thing I learnt from her and took away from the conversation was that there are other simple approaches to achieve a goal. The desire to serve others at an early age is a strong motivator for someone to work in the health industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
