Substantive Criminal Law

This class gave me a solid understanding of how criminal law works, from what makes someone legally responsible for a crime to the different defenses they can use in court. That’s been really important for me because cybersecurity and cybercrime investigations aren’t just about the tech—there’s a whole legal side to it.

Learning about criminal liability helped me see how cybercriminals can be charged and what evidence is needed to hold them accountable. The section on legal defenses made me think about things like ethical hacking and cases where intent really matters. And studying punishment made me question if current laws actually keep up with digital crimes.

Overall, this class helped me connect the dots between law and cybersecurity, giving me a better perspective on how cybercrimes are handled in the legal system.
