Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is comprised of physiological needs, safety needs, love and social needs, esteem needs, and lastly self-actualization.  Below I will give some examples of how I have experiences with technology that could relate to each level.

Physiological: Just today I needed to get food for the week so I was able to submit my grocery order online and it was ready when I arrived to the store and all I needed to do was drive and pick it up.

Safety: I have a ring doorbell and it provides security for myself and my family to some degree because I can be aware of people approaching and/or entering the house which helps with security and safety.

Love and Social Needs:  In this world of social media it is very easy to meet love and social needs on websites ranging from Tinder to Facebook and everything in between.

Esteem Needs:  I would again go back to social media as many people look to the amount of likes they get on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. to fulfill their esteem needs that they are a worthy person.

Self-actualization: In the hyperconnected world it is easier than ever to connect with people that can lift us up mentally, spiritually and physically so that we are always striving towards becoming our best self so long as we are intentional about how we interact with the internet and apps.
