I am interest in cybersecurity technology because it is a field that is still growing and that is needed through out our society especially in today’s world. Cybersecurity is a great field to help protect privacy from others that could try and hack different aspects of your work. I want to grow my knowledge about computers and networks to be able to advance my skills on what it takes to study cybersecurity. Within cybersecurity, theres so many different routes thats possible to study which makes the field so interesting. I have been growing interest in criminology with cybersecurity. From what I have learned now, theres two types of security that you have to keep in mind. Computer security and information security. They may seem similar but, the roles are very important. Information security is focusing on the availability and integrity of the data. While computer security mainly focuses on cyber attacks, data breaches, and identity theft. Inside the cybersecurity field, we must figure out why its so important to have people protecting us. Mainly because of unauthorized access, deletion, and modification. We also learn about the CIA (Confidentiality, integrity, and availability) and how those are the most significant pillars that most organizations use to build off of. Im also interested in cybersecurity because I grew up knowing a bit of IT work from my dad who use to be an IT for a corporation in DC. I would here different things about IT work that he would tell me about. I found it very interesting to know the capabilities that you can do just from using your computer. It really shows us that theres always a deeper meaning to what you see on just the screen. I want to be able to assist people while also protecting them from hacks that could lead to personal information being shared.
