The library lessons that are presented in this lesson address the two genres: fiction and nonfiction. The artifact focuses on the criteria of a fiction and nonfiction text. In addition, this is a great lesson for school librarians to teach because the two genres are a challenge for learners to distinguish in the lower grade levels. The instructional tools that were used in this lesson included: books, pictures, anchor charts, and graphic organizers. These tools are excellent for a school librarian to use as scaffolds to engage learners during instruction.
