Artifact 6: Community Engagement Project: Grant Proposal

This artifact focuses on the grant proposal for the Kindergarten Summer Readiness Program at Richmond Public Library. The grant that was applied to was called the Libraries Transform Communities: Engagement Grant.  The community engagement project focuses on educating all children from different ethnic backgrounds. The project also supports the library’s goals in providing technology access, developing citizens of the community, improving facility operations, and providing the space to meet the needs of the community. As a school librarian, one of my responsibilities would be to network with different libraries in the community to meet the needs of children. It is important for children to be aware of different educational programs, resources, and materials so that they may benefit academically and socially.
